BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 14 UAB men’s golf team will head to Palo Alto, Calif. for The Goodwin. The three-round event, held at the Stanford University Golf Course, will run from Friday, March 28 – Sunday, March 30.
Head coach Alan Murray will send out seniors Sam Love, Wilson McDonald, and Thomas Sutton, junior Paul Dunne, and sophomore Martin Rohwer for the Blazers’ fifth event of the spring season. It marks the seventh time that UAB will employ this lineup.
UAB is coming off a second-place finish at the Chris Schenkel Invitational. The Blazers, spearheaded by a second-place showing from Rohwer, were eight strokes behind tournament host Georgia Southern. As a team, UAB has finished in the top three in each of its last three tournaments.
Five squads in the 18-team field currently rank in the latest Golfstat Relative Rankings, presenting a formidable challenge for the Blazers. In addition, six teams in the field qualified for the 2013 NCAA Championships.
The Blazers will tee off the 10th hole beginning at 11:00 a.m. CT at the par-70, 6,727-yard course. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.
