Men's Golf Finishes First Round In Hawaii

PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii--The UAB golf team finished the first round of the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate presented by St. Regis Princeville Resort on Monday with a team total of 309 (+21).

Junior Sam Love and sophomore Paul Dunne led the squad after carding scores of 75 (+3) in the first round for a multi-way tie for 38th place.

Georgia Southern leads the team race with a total of five-under-par 283, while North Carolina State sits in second place with a four-under-par 284. East Tennessee State and UC Irvine round out the top-three with identical scores of two-under-par 286.

UC Santa Barbara's Amol Mahal, East Tennessee State's Adrian Meronk, and Xavier's Korey Ward sit in a three-way tie for first place with scores of four-under-par 68.

Round two of the Warrior Wave Intercollegiate will begin tomorrow, with the first group teeing off at 7:30 a.m. HT. The Blazers will begin teeing off at 9:45 a.m. HT, and are grouped with competitors from Cal State Fullerton, Xavier, and Hawaii.
