BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB football team practiced for more than two hours on Wednesday afternoon at Legion Field in preparation for its Conference USA clash with Marshall. UAB and Marshall are scheduled to kickoff at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Huntington, W.Va.
Following practice, defensive coordinator Jimmy Williams addressed the media contingent. Williams discussed how the defense has been preparing for its upcoming contest and what it is expecting from the opposition.
“We have been focused,” stated Williams. “There is a sense of a great challenge and opportunity coming this Saturday. We have had a good week of practice. As a group, we are getting better and that is where I want us to be.”
UAB is preparing for a Marshall offense that leads Conference USA in scoring and total offense. The Thundering Herd are scoring at a clip of 40.9 points per game and averaging 473.2 yards of offense.
“They are a great football team,” said Williams. “We expect a fast-tempo offense with great quarterbacks. They are coached very, very well. They have tremendous receivers. They are a tremendous team. It will be a great battle on the road, a great opportunity.”
Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on CSS.
