BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB football team continued its preparations for Saturday's game against UTSA with a two-hour workout on Tuesday.
The Blazers meet the Roadrunners for the first time in school history when the two teams clash at the Alamodome at 4 p.m. CT Saturday.
Following Tuesday's practice session, UAB offensive line coach John Peterson spoke with media about how the Blazers' offensive line is progressing so far this season.
"The senior leadership has been solid and consistent," Peterson said. "The seniors have had to bring the young guys along quickly, and they have done a very good job. Our young guys have been learning on the job and they have a great support cast to help them improve."
UAB's offensive front will have to contend with a physical UTSA defense -- a group that is ranked fifth in Conference USA in total defense. Meanwhile, UAB has the fifth-best scoring offense in the league, averaging 29 points per game.
