BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Taylor Klein of the Blazer football team was recently named UAB Student-Athlete of the Week for his excellence in the classroom and on the field for the Green and Gold.
Klein, a fifth-year senior with the Blazers, has been a four-year long snapper on the football team and provided stability to the special teams unit during his tenure at UAB. In his first season, Klein was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team and has shown consistency for his snapping efforts on the field ever since.
In the classroom, Klein has been a model student, maintaining a 3.57 GPA as an accounting major. The Lexington, Ky., native has also earned numerous awards for his academic standing, being named a four-time C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient and named to the Dean’s List on multiple occasions.
In addition, Klein is a member of the PI Kappa PI Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Business Honors Program and maintained the highest GPA on the UAB football team twice.
The UAB football team travels to Houston this Saturday to take on the Cougars in its first C-USA road game of the season. Game time is set for 11 a.m. CT at Robertson Stadium.
