BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB football team practiced for two hours on Tuesday in preparation for its Conference USA bout with FIU on Saturday night in Miami, Fla.
Offensive coordinator Richard Owens addressed the media following Tuesday’s training session and spoke on how the team looks to rebound from its loss to Florida Atlantic in its last contest.
“You have got to bounce back,” said Owens. “You have to come out here. It is a whole new ballgame. We have to keep getting better, every week. Every week is a different challenge. You don’t know what you are going to face when you go into it. You just have an idea. You have to go out there, keep working, and continue to get better every week.”
Heading into Saturday’s matchup against FIU, UAB is seeking its first win in conference in 2013. Owens expects a tough battle for the coveted in-conference victory.
“Every team that comes out here is going to be well prepared,” stated Owens. “They are going to be coached well. They are going to come out here and it is going to be a new ballgame.”
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, and will be televised on CSS.
