BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--The UAB football team practiced for roughly an hour on Thursday in its final tune-up before the Homecoming game against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday at Legion Field
"I think they get the point," head coach Garrick McGee said. "We can play well, we can play passionately, we can play like we care, but for us to have success, we have to play smart. We have to understand that every decision we make on the field affects our team and affects our program. We have to focus on every decision that's made on the field."
Coming into their first meeting with the Blazers, Southeastern Louisiana holds a two-game win streak, with both victories coming in Southland Conference action.
"They're very talented, the coach has done a good job," McGee said. "They play a lot of different styles on both sides of the ball. They're a team that is very dangerous because you don't really know where they're coming from, and we really have to have our antennas up, have to concentrate and think while we're on the football field."
Kickoff for Saturday's contest against the Lions is slated for 2 p.m. CT. For more information regarding the events surrounding UAB Homecoming Week, please CLICK HERE.
