BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- Back on the campus practice fields Tuesday, the UAB football team spent more than two hours in full pads as the Blazers look ahead to Saturday's game in Baton Rouge against No. 9-ranked LSU.
UAB is coming off a hard-fought 34-31 overtime loss to Troy last Saturday in its season opener.
Blazers' offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Richard Owens knows his team will face a physical LSU when the Blazers take the field Saturday night inTiger Stadium.
"It's another opponent, another competitor," said Owens. "They're a physical team. Every week is going to be hard. The key for is we just have to go out there and execute and play our game. We've got to eliminate negative plays."
The Blazers practiced Tuesday with amped up crowd noise blaring on blaring over loud speakers.
"I think noise can always play a part wherever you go," Owens said about the simulation. "You've just got to be prepared for it."
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT with the game to be televised by ESPNU. The game can also be heard on the Blazer IMG Sports Network. The contest will air locally on WUHT-FM 107.7.
