BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Now just two days away from its 2014 Spring Game, the UAB football team went through an evening workout Wednesday at the campus fields as the Blazers completed spring practice No. 13.

The Blazers will hold their Spring Game Friday at 6 p.m. at West Campus Field.

Head coach Bill Clark is looking forward to his team's final scrimmage of the spring but reiterated that the contest won't be conducted in quite the format that he'd like due to the team being so thin in certain areas. But he said he's confident fans will enjoy what they see.

"The hardest thing for me is I can't give the fans exactly what I'd like," said Clark, "because of our lack of offensive linemen. I think it will be more about individual performance so there will be plenty to watch."

Clark said he thinks he and his staff feel good about where the Blazers have come in the spring, and believes that process started earlier than the first day of spring drills. "I think we really go back to January since we've been here. You look at the training, the lifting, the conditioning and the meetings up to that point (the start of spring practice). I do think it's our team now and I think they have taken our personality. I hope that's people see when they come see us Friday night.

"I think they are learning how we want them to compete. There's a sense of urgency in everything we do. That's how we go to class, how we meet, how we train, how we practice. Everything we do is important. Hopefully, they're starting to get that message."
