BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- A trio of former UAB football players have been added to the roster for the inaugural USA Football Bowl, which will be played Monday, Jan. 20 in Hoover, Ala.
The game is part of a five-day event that will also include a combine Tuesday for scouts to evaluate physical skills of the participating players.
Perry, from Baltimore, Md., started 16 games in his UAB career, including five during his senior season in 2013. He finished with 4,454 career passing yards which stands No. 4 on the all-time Blazer charts. He also had 640 rushing yards in his three seasons of action which also ranks fourth in the UAB record book.
Bastien, a native of Immokalee, Fla., played in 44 games at linebacker while at UAB and started 17 of those. He finished the 2013 campaign with 28 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Bastien recorded 0.5 tackles during his career.
Jones, a product of Heidelberg, Miss., filled a vital role as primarily a blocker in the Blazer offense. He started five games last season.
