Returns as the starting center and leader on the offensive line ... one of the hardest workers on the team -- on the field and in the weight room ... has started the last season-and-a-half ... one of four returning starters on a line that is the key to an improved offense.

2001: Started all 11 games at center last year É key reason for Jegil DuggerÕs 839 yards and for two quarterbacks to rush for a combined 648 yards É was the leader of a young offensive line that had just returned just three starters.

2000: Began the season as the third center, but was thrust into the fire in mid-year after injuries to Brett Richards and Ryan Estes left the position open ... Tuck quickly showed that he was more than up to the job, and carried that momentum into 2001 spring practice.

1999: Saw action in four games ... made his UAB debut vs. Louisiana-Monroe (10/2) ... also played in the final three games of the season

1998: Sat out the season as a redshirt after walking on during spring practice.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner for Coach Rick Rhoades at Pelham High School ... All-County and All-Metro as a senior ... also lettered in baseball and basketball.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 22, 1978, in Provo, Utah ... son of Wayne and Theresa Tuck ... a criminal justice major.
