Redshirted in 2012 in first year at UAB, Pickren has seen action on both sides of the ball since joining the Blazers ... originally was signed as a tight end, but he has also seen action at defensive end ... now listed on offensive line.

2013: Saw action in nine games for the Blazers with two starts (vs. Marshall and Southern Miss), both at tight end.

2012: Did not see any action and was redshirted.

High School: Attended Pell City High School ... played under head coach David Shores at Pell City for three years ... committed to UAB in July 2011 before his senior year at Pell City ... named honorable mention all-state for his play at defensive line by Andrew Bone of Scout.com ... tallied 87 total tackles, 11 sacks and 27 tackles for a loss during his senior campaign ... recorded two sacks and five tackles for loss against Clay-Chalkville ... projected to move to the offensive side of the ball at UAB as a tight end .... used in goal line situations for Pell City during his senior season at tight end ...
