Redshirted as a true freshman in 2005, Lankford saw his first action in 2006 ... also saw some special teams action that season ... his role has increased significantly since start of last season .... listed as No. 1 tight end entering preseason practice in 2009 ... forms a formidable tight end tandem with teammate Jeffery Anderson.

2008: Saw action in all 12 games during season and started the final three contests ... finished with 16 receptions for 190 yards with two touchdowns ... tied for fifth on team in catches ... had a pair of touchdown receptions (vs. Florida Atlantic and vs. Houston) ... was on receiving end of two or more passes in five games ... had season-high three catches for 33 yards against Houston ... had two grabs for 36 yards in second game of the season at Florida Atlantic.
