Redshirted in 2010 in his first season at UAB, Hix played in reserve role on offensive line last season ... listed as starter at center position entering fall camp.

2011: Saw reserve duty on offensive line for the Blazers ... an outstanding student, Hix was a recipient of Conference USA Academic Medal ... also earned a spot on C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2011-12. 2010: Did not play any games and was redshirted as a true freshman.

High School: Earned Class 6A All-State honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior in 2009 ... selected for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, a game in which he played every offensive snap at center ... helped his Auburn team to back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, two straight 6A Region 3 titles and a 25-2 record over his final two years ... started the final 27 games of his high school career ... graded out at 89 percent as a senior with 67 knockdown blocks ... blocked for an Auburn offense that ran for 3,333 yards, posted 5,018 yards of total offense and scored a school-record 513 points in 2009 ... member of an offensive line that allowed just eight sacks for the season ... coached by Tim Carter ... played at the same high school as former UAB defensive back Brandon Carlisle ... father Bob played at Auburn University as an offensive lineman from 1979-83.
