After being thrust into considerable action, especially in latter part of 2007 season, Harris stepped into a larger role in 2008 ...has been part-time starter since 2008 ... listed as No. 2 at SLB after spring practice.

2009: Played in 10 games and started four of those (Rice, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and UCF) ... concluded season with 33 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries ... had some of his best games statistically in contests he started ... finished with a season-high eight tackles, including a pair of tackles for loss, against Ole Miss ... recorded six tackles against Rice, SMU and UCF ... had fumble recoveries against SMU and Texas A&M.

2008: Played in 11 games and started seven contests for the Blazers ... ranked No. 3 on the team in total tackles with 47 stops (22 solos) ... recorded three tackles for loss ... recovered one fumble and caused one fumble during the season ...registered a season-high 11 tackles against Tulsa ... also had eight tackles against South Carolina ... had a combined 25 tackles in first three games of season vs. Tulsa, Florida Atlantic and Tennessee ... tackles for loss came against Tulsa, FAU and South Carolina.

2007: Saw action in 10 games during season, including the final six ... ranked 14th on team in tackles with 26 with 10 solo hits ... recorded 1.5 tackles for loss (vs. Florida State and East Carolina) ... had a season-high seven tackles in second game of season at Florida State ... also recorded five tackles in season finale at Marshall ... had three tackles in home game vs. Southern Miss ... earned a spot on Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended LaGrange High School in west Georgia ... coached by Steve Pardue ... a two-year starter at outside linebacker, Harris played a key role in LaGrange's success over his last several seasons ... as a senior, he tallied 95 tackles, including 52 solos, to rank No. 3 on the team ... also had 11 tackles for loss and 13 "big hits" ... had one interception his senior season and returned two fumble recoveries for touchdowns ... earned all-area honors as a senior ... as a junior, he had 55 solo tackles with 44 assists, also ranking third on the team ... registered a pair of sacks, 10 tackles for loss with five interceptions for 115 yards ... also had a pair of fumble recoveries his junior year ... saw limited action on offensive side of the ball during career ... in his four years on varsity, LaGrange won a pair of state championships and three Region 2-AAA titles ... team had a record of 50-6 during that period ... over seven-year period, LaGrange either won state championship or lost in playoffs to the team that eventually won the state crown.
