Redshirted in 2003 as a true freshman, Fuqua saw action in 2004 as reserve in defensive backfield and on special teams ... has played in 21 games over past two seasons ... was outstanding prep player and ran up impressive stats, especially on offensive side of the fall ... playing time has increased past two seasons ... listed as starter at strong safety position entering fall drills.

2006: Played in 11-of-12 games during season ... totaled 10 tackles on the season with eight solo stops ... registered three tackles against Memphis and UTEP ... also notched his first career interception when he picked one off in road game at SMU ... had one sack vs. UTEP.

2005: Saw action in 10 games during season and started a pair ... registered 20 tackles ... also had two tackles for loss, one pass break-up and one QB hurry ... recorded a season-high seven tackles in Blazers' late-season road victory at UTEP ... also had five tackles vs. UCF ... recorded 16 of his 20 tackles in the final three games of the season ... had two tackles for loss -- four tackles overall -- in final game of season at East Carolina.

2004: Made impact as he provided depth for the Blazers in secondary ... saw playing time increase down the stretch last season ... was named to Conference USA All-Freshman Team ... contributed 14 tackles with 11 solo hits and three pass break-ups.

2003: Did not see any action and was redshirted ... named to Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for 2003-04.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Russellville High ... named the Region 8 player of the year in 2002 ... as a senior, ran for 937 yards on 130 carries (7.2 yards per carry) and had 11 TDs ... also had 47 receptions for 655 yards (13.9 yards per catch) and 13 TDs ... named to The Birmingham News Class 5A All-State team ... coached by Perry Swindall ... returned punts for an average of 25.6 per return and two TDs ... also returned kickoffs for an average of 25.7 per return and one TD ... best game was against Lee-Huntsville where he accounted for 250 all-purpose yards and five TDs ... had 145 yards rushing, 90 yards receiving and two touchdowns vs. Athens ... as a junior, had 113 rushes for 867 yards (7.7 yards per carry) and seven TDs ... also grabbed 26 receptions for 369 yards and three TDs ... also participated in basketball and track & field.
