After a strong finish to the 2006 campaign, Britten has greater goals for this fall ... listed as No. 1 cornerback coming out of spring practice ... will be in his second season at UAB in 2007.

2006: Saw action in 11-of-12 games for the Blazers but most extensive playing time came in latter stages of the season ... made starts in secondary in three of last four contests ... made first start in road game at SMU and started next two games as well vs. UTEP and Southern Miss ... finished season with 18 total tackles, 17 of those solo hits ... recorded 17 of his 18 tackles on the season in final four games ... had season-highs for tackles with five against SMU and UCF ... perhaps his best game of '06 came against Southern Miss when he registered a pair of fumble recoveries and blocked a kick.

Junior College: Named second-team all-state at Northwest Mississippi CC by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges after stellar sophomore campaign ... led team with 17 pass break-ups and was tied for third in the state association with four interceptions on the season ... named National Junior College Athletic Association's National Player of the Week on Oct. 1, 2005 after nabbing three interceptions in a 10-7 win over Holmes Community College ... had 34 total tackles as a sophomore for head coach Randy Pippin.

High School: Was a prep standout at Lafayette High School in Oxford, Miss. ... played for Lafayette coach Scott Samsul where he was a two-time all-area defensive back as chosen by the area coaches ... earned team MVP honors in both football and basketball ... also a two-time all-area pick in basketball and a Mississippi High School Coaches Association all-state selection as a senior.
