Made a welcomed return to the Blazer lineup in 2003 after missing the final nine games of 2002 with a knee injury ... along with Zac Woodfin and Nigel Eldridge, he helps give the Blazers a trio of outstanding senior linebackers.

2003: Started 11-of-12 games for UAB at linebacker ... finished as Blazers' fifth-leading tackler with 66 stops, including 37 solo hits ... also had four tackles for loss ... recorded a season-high 10 tackles against Baylor and Army ... had eight solo hits against the Black Knights ... also recorded nine tackles in October road victory at Memphis.

2002: Played in only three games because of knee injury suffered vs. Pittsburgh ... at the time he went down, Black was the team's leading tackler ... finished year with 32 tackles in less than three full games of action ... also recorded two tackles for loss and returned an interception 30 yards for a TD in win over Troy State ... had 16 tackles in the Troy State contest ... had seven tackles in season-opener at Florida.

2001: Saw action in 10 games ... made his collegiate debut vs. Montana State (Aug. 30) ... made three solo tackles vs. Army (Sep. 22) ... finished the season with six solos and three assists.

2000: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: "Best of the Rest" selection by The Birmingham News as a senior at Childersburg High School ... had 150 tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries as a senior ... rushed for more than 1,000 yards as junior and senior ... lettered in football and basketball ... academic honors included Kiwanis Club, A-B Honor Roll and Beta Club.
