CHARLESTON, S.C. --- UAB junior guard Chad Frazier, who scored over 30 points in back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday, was named to the 2013 Charleston Classic All-Tournament Team, it was announced on Sunday.
Frazier, who averaged 25.3 points per game and led the tournament field with 76 total points, tallied the second-highest tournament point total in Charleston Classic history. Frazier’s total was just shy of the 78 points scored by Saint Joseph’s Carl Jones in 2011.
Frazier’s 34 points scored against New Mexico on Thursday and 32 vs. Nebraska on Friday rank third and fourth, respectively, for a single-game in Charleston Classic history.
The Charlotte, N.C. native, who has scored in double figures in every game this year, was 19-of-32 (59%) from the field, 7-of-12 (58%) from 3-point range and 21-of-24 (88%) from the free throw line in the first two games of the Charleston Classic. Frazier finished with 10 points against Temple on Sunday.
Joining Frazier on the all-tournament team is Clemson’s K.J. McDaniel, Temple’s Dalton Pepper, New Mexico’s Alex Kirk and Most Valuable Player Cady Lalanne from UMass.
