BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB's men's basketball team will begin the 2014-15 Battle 4 Atlantis with a matchup against 2014 NCAA Final Four participant Wisconsin in the first round of the event, the Battle 4 Atlantis announced on Tuesday.
The Blazers will meet the Badgers for the first time in school history at 7 p.m. EST on AXS TV. The winner and loser of the UAB vs. Wisconsin game will match up with the winner and loser of the Florida vs. Georgetown contest.
"We knew when we were invited to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis we would be going against some of the best teams in college basketball," head coach Jerod Haase said. "Playing a 2014 Final Four team in Wisconsin is a great opportunity for our team and will create even more exposure at a national level for UAB basketball. We are thrilled about the opportunity and look forward to playing in the Bahamas this Thanksgiving."
This year's Battle 4 Atlantis will run from Nov. 26-28 and will be played at the Atlantis, Paradise Island Resort. Below is a list of the first round matchups, which will all take place on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Game 1: Butler University vs. University of North Carolina (live at 12:00 PM EST on ESPN2)
Game 2: University of California, Los Angeles vs. University of Oklahoma (live at 2:30 PM EST on ESPN2)
Game 3: University of Wisconsin vs. University of Alabama at Birmingham (live at 7:00 PM EST on AXS TV)
Game 4: University of Florida vs. Georgetown University (live at 9:30 PM EST on AXS TV)
All 2014 Battle 4 Atlantis games will be aired live on one of the ESPN networks or AXS TV from Atlantis’ Imperial Arena, the famed resort’s unique and impressive 3,900-seat arena.
