BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Postseason accolades continue to pour in for UAB men’s basketball junior guard Chad Frazier. The Charlotte, N.C. native and 2014 First Team All-Conference USA selection was voted the 2014 C-USA Newcomer of the year, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Frazier, who was tabbed a First Team All-C-USA selection on Monday, becomes just the second player in UAB history to be voted Conference USA’s Newcomer of the Year. Former Blazer Robert Vaden earned the honor during the 2007-08 season.

The Blazer guard, whose team opens up the 2014 Conference USA Championship on Wednesday against Charlotte, led all newcomers in the league with 17.7 points per game this season. He was one of Conference USA’s most dynamic scorers during the regular season, scoring in double figures in 28 of 30 games.

Below is a list of the 2014 All-Freshman Team, 2014 All-Defensive team as well as specialty award winners, which were all voted on by Conference USA head coaches, media relations directors and selected media.
