BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- UAB men's basketball junior guard Chad Frazier has been named to the All-Conference USA First Team, the league office announced on Monday.
In his first season at UAB, Frazier leads the Blazers and is third in Conference USA in scoring with 17.7 points per game. The Charlotte, N.C. native, who came to UAB by way of Gulf Coast (Fla.) Community College, scored in double figures in 28 of 30 games this season and scored over 20 points on 10 occasions.
"I am very proud of Chad for all he has accomplished this year," head coach Jerod Haase said. "He is very deserving of this honor and is an exceptional player who has produced at a high level on a consistent basis this season."
Frazier finished the regular season ranked third in C-USA in assists with 4.3 per game. He tallied a season-high 10 assists in two contests this season and earned back-to-back Conference USA Player of the Week honors after scoring a season-high 34 points vs. then No. 19 New Mexico and 25 points vs. then No. 16 North Carolina.
The 6-foot-4, 190 pound guard is one of just nine Blazers all-time to earn All-C-USA First-Team honors. He is the first UAB men's basketball player since Cameron Moore in 2011-12 to garner the award.
