BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB men’s basketball team returns home and looks to build on its current three-game win streak when it hosts Louisiana Tech on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT.

Notes To Know

The Series: UAB has faced Louisiana Tech four times in school history and was won each contest. Every game in the series has been played at Bartow Arena.

Late Success: The Blazers have won three-straight games this season, all coming on the road. In fact, UAB has won four of its last five games with two home contests remaining on the schedule.

Nice To Be Home: UAB, which plays its final two games at Bartow Arena, owns a 12-3 mark at home this season. In all, the Blazers are 23-7 in two seasons under head coach Jerod Haase.

Frazier Shines: UAB junior guard Chad Frazier has become one of the top players in Conference USA. Frazier is second in the league in scoring in C-USA games only, averaging 18.4 points per game. He is also fifth overall in assists with 4.5 per contest.

The Blazers have recorded over 50 rebounds nine times this season (54 vs. Rutgers, 53 vs. Troy, 62 vs. New Mexico, 52 vs. North Carolina 51 vs. Alabama A&M, 50 vs. Newberry College, 53 at North Texas, 50 at Tulsa, and 51 at Marshall). » Frazier has scored 20 or more points in four of the last eight games, including a 27-point performance against Old Dominion on Jan. 30. Frazier has led UAB in scoring 16 times this season and recorded 20 points or more 10 times.

Williams Lands On UAB’s Career Rebounds Chart

UAB senior guard Robert Williams has moved into 10th place on the Blazers’ all-time career rebounds chart. Williams, who has recorded 569 rebounds in his career, is just 12 rebounds shy of ninth place, which is held by Chris Giles (581).

Swing  Hits 1,000 Career Points
» With his five points against Rice On Thursday, giving him 1,003 career points.. The Birmingham native began his career at Western Kentucky before transferring to the hometown Blazers for his final three seasons.

Trio Of Freshmen Stepping Up

UAB’s freshmen trio of Denzell Watts, Tyler Madison and Tosin Mehinti have seen increased minutes in Conference USA action. Watts has logged 20 minutes or more in 10 of the team’s 14 C-USA games and has scored in double figures twice -- 11 vs. Southern Miss and 10 vs. Tulane. Mehinti has seen action in every game this season. In conference play only, Mehinti is UAB’s most efficient scorer, hitting 17-of-35 (48.6 percent) from the field. Madison is averaging 7.7 minutes per game in C-USA play and is coming off a season-best six-point performance at Rice.

Three-Straight Road Wins For The Blazers

The Blazers downed Marshall, Charlotte and Rice in consecutive road games coming into Sunday’s game. The last time the Blazers won three-straight road C-USA games was during the 2011-12 season, when UAB won at Rice (Jan. 18), at Marshall (Jan. 25) and at UTEP (Feb. 4).
