UAB STRING OF HOLDING OPPONENTS UNDER 40% SNAPPED: The Blazers had a seven-game streak of holding their opponents to under 40 percent shooting snapped against Marquette (2/14). UAB has held its foes to under that shooting mark 12 times this season and are 10-2 in those contests.

CAMPBELL TIES SEASON-HIGH POINT TOTAL: Junior Will Campbell tied his season high for points against Marquette last Wednesday with 19 and added six rebounds. Campbell, going into that game, had recorded at least nine rebounds in 11 of the previous 13 games for UAB. Currently, over the last 10 games, Campbell is averaging 12.2 points and 10.6 rebounds. Earlier this season, Campbell garnered C-USA Player of the Week honors (Feb. 4) and recorded 20 rebounds in a game against Houston (1/31) marking only the seventh time in league history that a player has notched at least that many in a contest.

BLAZERS SURRENDER SEASON-LOW POINTS: UAB gave up just 53 points against Houston (1/31), marking the fewest points the Blazers have given up this season and the lowest output from an opponent since Louisville collected just 50 last season (1/12/00) in a UAB 56-50 victory over the Cardinals. In fact, the Blazers kept its opponents to under 60 points in back-to-back games when USM managed just 59 on Feb. 3.

FEBRUARY GAMES: The Blazers hold a overall 107-76 (.585) record during the month of February. UAB is 452-267 (.629) in its 23rd season.

BARTOW ANNOUNCES RANSOM AND FINLEY TO REDSHIRT: UAB coach Murry Bartow announced both Myron Ransom and Morris Finley will redshirt this season due to injury. Ransom, a senior from Birmingham, tore his ACL in his right knee in a game over the summer, while the sophomore Finley from LaFayette, Ala., sustained a fractured vertebra in his back earlier this fall.

REBOUNDING MARGIN: This season the Blazers are outrebounding their opponents by a margin of 5.4 per contest as they have accumulated 41.3 boards per game. Three times this season, UAB has had a 20-plus rebounding advantage coming against Texas Tech (+21), Tulane (+22) and a whopping plus-34 against Centenary that tied a school record for UAB by grabbing 65 rebounds. UAB is 13-3 this season in games when they outrebound its opponent.

SPEAKING OF REBOUNDING: The Blazers win over Marquette marked the first time this season UAB has won a game when they have been outrebounded. UAB trailed in the battle of the boards with the Golden Eagles 38-30.

BLAZERS DO WELL WHEN THEY SCORE 70 OR MORE: UAB is 12-4 when they score at least 70 points in a contest this season. The Blazers are 12-3 when they hold their opposition to 70 points or less.

AGAINST THE BULLS: UAB renews its oldest rivalry in the school's men's basketball history when they meet South Florida for the 44th time on the hardwood. The Blazers have played USF in 22 of UAB's 23 years as a basketball program. In 18 of those seasons, the two schools have played more than once in that particular campaign. The Blazers lead the series 27-16 and hold a 16-5 record over the Bulls in Birmingham, including a 7-2 mark in Bartow Arena. The Bulls won the previous meeting this season 61-60 in Tampa earlier this month.

LINEUP CHANGES: Through the first 25 games, the Blazers have started 10 different lineups. Senior LeAndrew Bass was the only Blazer to start in every game this season, before missing the Marquette game due to a sinus infection.

IGOR MOVES INTO EIGHTH ON UAB BLOCK CHART: Senior Igor Nikolic finds himself ranked No. 8 for a career at UAB in blocked shots after swatting away two shots against Centenary (2/12). Nikolic has 64 blocks for his Blazer career.

BASS IS SIXTH IN CAREER ASSISTS: LeAndrew Bass moved into sixth place on the UAB career chart for assists Jan. 3 against Alcorn State with four. Bass, who has 396 for his career, now has his sights set on fifth place and needs 8 to overtake Michael Charles who notched 403 from 1984 to 1988. With seven assists against Memphis (1/27), Bass went over the century mark for assists this season (currently with 121) to become the first Blazer to record 100 in a campaign since Eric Holmes had 102 during the 1998-99 campaign.

DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOR THE BLAZERS: Four times this season, UAB has had a pair of players collect double-doubles in the same game. David Walker (10 pts, 13 rebs.) and Sidney Ball (10 pts., 10 rebs.) accomplished that feat most recently, coming Monday night at Memphis. Will Campbell (14 pts., 12 rebs.) and Eric Batchelor (17 pts., 12 rebs.) collected a duo double-double against Centenary, while Walker (19 pts., 13, reb.) and Campbell (19 pts., 12 reb.) achieved that feat against Tulane (1/7). Campbell notched 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Bass recorded the first double-double of his career with 14 points and a career-best 11 rebounds against Virginia Commonwealth.
