Bartow has taken the Blazers to postseason action in three of his first four seasons and has compiled a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. UAB captured the 1999 Conference USA National Division title and made the program's 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the first for UAB since 1994.

UNDER MURRY BARTOW: The Blazers have ...
* made 3 postseason visits in 4 years
* posted back-to-back 20-victory seasons during the 1997-98 & 98-99 campaigns (the 1st since 1992-93 & 93-94)
* reached the C-USA Tournament semifinals in 3 of 4 seasons
* has led one of only five C-USA schools to at least 70 victories over the last four seasons
* led UAB to NCAA Tournament appearance in 1999, the first trip since 1994
* averaged 18.3 wins per season over his first four campaigns

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY: The Marquette game will mark the fifth time UAB has played on Valentine's Day in its school history. Overall, UAB is 2-2 on Cupid's day and 1-0 in the Murry Bartow era when the Blazer captured a 77-69 win at Tulane during the 1997-98 season.

TOUGH STRETCH FINISHES WITH THE GOLDEN EAGLES: The Marquette contest finishes a stretch of three games over a five-day period. UAB split its first two games of this string, losing to South Florida on the road last Saturday defeating Centenary at Bartow Arena Monday.

CAMPBELL CONTINUES TORRID TEAR: After a stellar week in which he was named C-USA Player of the Week on Feb. 4, junior Will Campbell (Elmira, N.Y.) continued his solid play for the Blazers by notching consecutive double-doubles after earning the honor. Campbell collected 12 points and 11 rebounds against USF Saturday and answered with a 14-point, 12-rebound performance against the Gents on Monday.

MORE ON CAMPBELL: During 2000-01, Campbell has tallied 10 double-digit rebound performances including 20 against Houston (1/31) which marked just the seventh time in C-USA history that a player has tallied at least that many in a contest. Campbell has notched at least nine rebounds in 11 of his last 13 games and is averaging 11.4 points and 11.8 rebounds over the last eight games. Campbell ranks seventh overall in the league at 8.3 rebounds per game and is first in the conference in rebounding in C-USA games only at 10.5 per contest.

BLAZERS SURRENDER SEASON-LOW POINTS: UAB gave up just 53 points against Houston (1/31), marking the fewest points the Blazers have given up this season and the lowest output from an opponent since Louisville collected just 50 last season (1/12/00) in a UAB 56-50 victory over the Cardinals. In fact, the Blazers kept its opponents to under 60 points in back-to-back games for the first time this season when USM managed just 59 on Feb. 3.

FEBRUARY GAMES: The Blazers hold a overall 106-75 (.586) record during the month of February. UAB is 451-266 (.629) in its 23rd season.

BARTOW ANNOUNCES RANSOM AND FINLEY TO REDSHIRT: UAB coach Murry Bartow announced both Myron Ransom and Morris Finley will redshirt this season due to injury. Ransom, a senior from Birmingham, tore his ACL in his right knee in a game over the summer, while the sophomore Finley from LaFayette, Ala., sustained a fractured vertebra in his back earlier this fall.

REBOUNDING MARGIN: This season the Blazers are outrebounding their opponents by a margin of 5.6 per contest as they have accumulated 41.3 boards per game. Three times this season, UAB has had a 20-plus rebounding advantage coming against Texas Tech (+21), Tulane (+22) and a whopping plus-35 against Centenary Monday night as the Blazers tied a school record for 65 rebounds versus the Gents. UAB is 13-2 this season in games when they outrebound its opponent.

BLAZERS DO WELL WHEN THEY SCORE 70 OR MORE: This season, UAB is 11-4 when they score at least 70 points in a contest. The Blazers are 11-3 when they hold their opposition to 70 points or less.

HOLDING FOES UNDER 40% USUALLY MEANS WIN: For the seventh straight game and the 12th time this season, the Blazers have held their opponent to under 40 percent shooting when they limited Centenary to 34.8 percent (24-of-69) from the floor. UAB has accumulated a 10-2 mark when they hold its foes to under 40 percent shooting.

AGAINST THE GOLDEN EAGLES: The Blazers take on Marquette for the 15th time in its basketball history and trail in the series 10-4. UAB, which has won two of the last three games in the series, dropped the only meeting between the two schools last year in Milwaukee 68-58. UAB is 2-4 against the Golden Eagles at Bartow Arena.
