UAB Downs FAU, 76-43
Paul Delaney III scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had six assists to lead UAB to a 76-43 victory over Florida Atlantic on Monday night. All nine Blazers who dressed scored at least three points in the win.
BOCA RATON, Fla. ---- UAB’s men’s basketball team looks to snap a two-game skid in Conference USA action when the Blazers travel to Florida Atlantic on Saturday for a 6 p.m. CT tip at FAU Arena.

Five Things To Know
- UAB and FAU meet for just the second time in school history on Saturday. The Blazers took the only win in the series, 76-43, on Dec. 22, 2008.
- UAB is trying to improve on its Conference USA road record. The Blazers are just 1-3 away from Bartow Arena in league action with the only victory coming against Tulsa on Jan. 25.
- UAB is led by a pair of junior college transfers in Chad Frazier and C.J. Washington. The two have combined to lead UAB in scoring in 20 of the team’s 22 games this season. Either Frazier or Washington have led UAB in scoring in four-straight games with 20 point efforts in each contest.
The Blazers have recorded 50 or more rebounds in eight games this season and is second in the nation in rebounds per game with 46.2 per contest.
- Joining Washington and Frazier in double figure scoring this season is senior forward Rod Rucker, who averages 10.8 ppg and 7.2 rebounds per game. Rucker has led UAB in scoring in two C-USA games.

» According to ESPN.com’s statistical rankings, UAB is the No. 2 rebounding team in the nation, averaging 46.2 boards per game. The Blazers have recorded over 50 rebounds eight times this season (54 vs. Rutgers, 53 vs. Troy, 62 vs. New Mexico, 52 vs. North Carolina 51 vs. Alabama A&M, 50 vs. Newberry College, 53 at North Texas and 50 at Tulsa). The 62 against New Mexico represents just the fifth time in school history that UAB has had 60-plus rebounds. The school record is 69, which came against South Alabama on Dec. 20, 1994.
Frazier’s 20-point Streak
» UAB guard Chad Frazier has scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games, including a 27-point performance against Old Dominion on Jan. 30. Frazier has led UAB in scoring 12 times this season and recorded 20 points or more eight times.
Frazier League’s Best In Conference Play
» Chad Frazier is Conference USA’s leading scorer in conference play. Frazier, who is averaging 19.0 points per game in conference action, has led UAB in scoring in five of the team’s eight C-USA games.
Blazers’ Success At The Line
» UAB is currently ranked No. 4 in Conference USA in free-throw percentage for the season, hitting 375-of-539 (.696) overall. In conference games only, however, the Blazers are knocking in just 122-of-189 (.646), which ranks No. 10 in the league.
Watts Seeing Increased Playing Time
» UAB freshman guard Denzell Watts has seen increased playing time in Conference USA play. The Flint, Mich., native averages 19.8 minutes per game in league action and scores 4.1 points per game against conference opponents. He has played 20 minutes or more in six of UAB’s eight conference games this season.
Frazier, Washington Making The Difference
» UAB junior point guard Chad Frazier and junior forward C.J. Washington, who are both in their first seasons with the Blazers, are UAB’s top scorers and have led the Blazers in scoring in 20 of 22 games this season. They are the only two Blazers to score 20-plus points in a game this season (Frazier doing so eight times, Washington five times). The two combine to score 31.2 of UAB’s 75.4 ppg, which is 42 percent of the team’s scoring effort.
Swing Approaching 1,000 Career Points
» UAB guard Jordan Swing is approaching the 1,000 career point mark. The Birmingham native, who now has 978 career points, began his career at Western Kentucky before transferring to the hometown Blazers for his final three seasons.
» FAU enters Saturday’s game with an 8-15 overall record and 3-5 mark in Conference USA action. The Owls have lost three out of their last four games this season and come into Saturday’s contest after falling to Middle Tennessee, 67-63, on Thursday.
