UAB Falls To East Carolina, 74-61
East Carolina used a big second half run to defeat the UAB men's basketball team, 74-61, on Wednesday night at Minges Coliseum.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Riding a two-game Conference USA win streak, the UAB men's basketball team welcomes East Carolina to Bartow Arena on Saturday for a 2 p.m. CT tip.
Fans can listen to the game on the Blazer IMG Sports Network. David Crane (play-by-play) and Bobby Frasor (analyst) will call the action on 107.7 FM.

Five Things To Know
• UAB and East Carolina meet for the 18th time in school history on Saturday. UAB leads the all-time series, 12-5, but has lost four of the last five games against the Pirates.
• The Blazers return to Bartow Arena, where they own an 11-1 record this season. Under head coach Jerod Haase, UAB is 22-5 at home in two seasons.
• The Blazers recorded their eighth game with 50 rebounds or more with 50 against Tulsa last Saturday. UAB, which ranks first in the nation in rebounds per game (47.0), recorded 53 boards at North Texas last Thursday.
• UAB’s Chad Frazier has scored over 20 points in three-straight games. He ranks third in the league in scoring with 18.2 ppg.

» UAB owns a 12-5 series advantage over East Carolina, with four of the five losses in the all-time series coming since 2011. In the last five games vs. the Pirates, UAB is just 1-4, with the lone win coming on Feb. 25, 2012 -- a 61-57 win at East Carolina.
» UAB won 11 of the first 12 meetings between the two programs. In a relatively young series, UAB and East Carolina met for the first time on the hardwood on Jan. 8, 2012, when the Blazers downed the Pirates, 63-54, at Bartow Arena.

» UAB has recorded 40 or more rebounds in 17 of its 20 games this season and has hit that mark in 11 of the last 13 contests. The Blazers have also recorded 50 or more boards eight times this season.

Frazier’s 20-point Streak
» UAB guard Chad Frazier has scored 20 or more points in three-straight games, including a 27-point performance against Old Dominion on Thursday. Frazier has led UAB in scoring 11 times this season and recorded 20 points or more seven times. Frazier has also recorded three or more made 3-point baskets in three-straight games.
Washington Heats Up Against ODU
» UAB junior forward C.J. Washington hit a season-best percentage from 3-point range (3-for-4, 75 percent) against Old Dominion on Thursday. Washington scored 19 points against ODU and finished with eight rebounds. He has now scored in double figures 12 times this season.
Frazier League’s Best In Conference Play
» Chad Frazier is Conference USA’s leading scorer in conference play. Frazier, who is averaging 19.3 points per game in conference action, has led UAB in scoring in four of the team’s six C-USA games.
Blazers’ Success At The Line
» UAB is currently ranked No. 3 in Conference USA in free-throw percentage for the season, hitting 345-of-495 (.697) overall. In conference games only, however, the Blazers are knocking in just 92-of-145 (.634), which ranks No. 12 in the league.
Watts Seeing Increased Playing Time
» UAB freshman guard Denzell Watts has seen increased playing time in Conference USA play. The Flint, Mich., native averages 19.3 minutes per game in league action and scores 4.0 points per game against conference opponents. He has played 20 minutes or more in five of UAB’s six conference games this season.

» East Carolina enters Saturday’s contest with an 11-10 overall record and 0-6 mark in Conference USA action. The Pirates have lost eight of their last nine games on the year and hold a 2-5 record in away games.
» The Pirates have three players who score in double figures, including a team-high 18.4 points per game from Akeem Richmond. East Carolina, which averages 77.9 points per game as a team, entered conference play with an 11-4 record.
