BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The UAB men's basketball team looks to snap its two-game losing skid with a Conference USA battle at Tulsa on Saturday. Opening tip is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.

Five Things To Know
- UAB and Tulsa meet for the 16th time in school history on Saturday. UAB leads the all-time series, 8-7, and has won three out of the last four meetings.
- The Blazers come into Saturday's game as statistically one of the best rebounding teams in Conference USA and the nation. UAB ranks first in the C-USA in five of seven rebounding categories. Meanwhile, Tulsa is 15th in the league in rebounding margin (-2.2) and 13th in both offensive and defensive rebounding.
- UAB, which ranks third in C-USA in free-throw percentage (.701), has made more free throws (314) than opponents have attempted (302).
- The Blazers are looking for their first road win since Dec. 7, when UAB downed Northeastern, 74-69, in Boston, Mass. UAB has lost three-straight and holds a 2-5 record away from Bartow Arena.
Poor Shooting Dooms UAB Against North Texas
» UAB shot just 30.6 percent against North Texas on Thursday. The Blazers hit just 22-of-72 from the field, including a 7-for-38 clip (18.4 percent) in the second half. The 30.6 mark from the field was the second lowest of the season for UAB. The Blazers shot just 30.4 percent from the floor at LSU on Dec. 21.
Watts Seeing Increased Playing Time
» UAB freshman guard Denzell Watts has seen increased playing time over the last five games. Watts, a native of Flint, Mich., has played over 20 minutes in four of the last five games on the year. He is averaging 18 minutes of playing time in Conference USA games.
UAB One Of Nation's Best Rebounding Teams
» According to ESPN.com's statistical rankings, UAB is the No. 2 rebounding team in the nation, averaging 46.8 boards per game. The Blazers have recorded over 50 rebounds seven times this season (54 vs. Rutgers, 53 vs. Troy, 62 vs. New Mexico, 52 vs. North Carolina 51 vs. Alabama A&M, 50 vs. Newberry College and 53 at North Texas). The 62 against New Mexico represents the fifth time in school history that UAB has had 60-plus rebounds. The school record is 69, which came against South Alabama on Dec. 20, 1994.
40-Plus Boards In 15 Games; 50-plus In Seven Games
» UAB has recorded 40 or more rebounds in 15 of its 18 games this season and has hit that mark in nine of the last 11 contests. The Blazers have also recorded 50 or more seven times this season.
» UAB's seven games with 50+ rebounds is the most in NCAA Division I men's basketball.
Swing Approaching 1,000 Career Points
» UAB guard Jordan Swing is approaching the 1,000 career point mark. The Birmingham native, who now has 972 career points, began his career at Western Kentucky before transferring to the hometown Blazers for his final three seasons.
Frazier, Washington Making The Difference
» UAB junior point guard Chad Frazier and junior forward C.J. Washington, who are both in their first seasons with the Blazers, are UAB's top scorers and have led the Blazers in scoring in 16 of 18 games this season. They are the only two Blazers to score 20-plus points in a game this season (Frazier doing so five times, Washington four times). The two combine to score 31.4 of UAB's 76.2 ppg, which is 42 percent of the team's scoring effort.
» Following a tough non-conference schedule that included games against Wichita State, Creighton, TCU and Maryland, Tulsa has found its stride in Conference USA play with a 4-1 overall league record. The Golden Hurricane's only loss in C-USA action came in overtime at Charlotte, 90-86, on Jan. 16.
» Unlike UAB, Tulsa is not a very strong rebounding team, averaging just 34.7 boards per game compared to 46.8 that the Blazers average per contest.
