>> UAB enters Wednesday’s game with an overall record of 8-10 after falling last Saturday at Southern Miss, 74-59.

>> At Southern Miss, Terence Jones poured in a game-high 15 points and hit a 3-pointer in three straight UAB possessions early in the first half.

>> UAB has won 11 of its last 12 home games, with the lone loss  during that stretch coming to Memphis on Jan. 12.

>> UAB has used the same starting lineup in all 18 games this season:  G Terence Jones, G Robert Williams, F Jordan Swing, F Rod Rucker, C Fahro Alihodzic.

>> UAB is just 1-9 in road/netural site games during the 2012-13 campaign.

>> The seven non-conference teams that have defeated UAB own a combined record of 86-41 (.677).

>> UAB ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, putting in 72.8 points per game.  Rod Rucker leads the team in per game average in points (13.7) and rebounds (8.3) and double-doubles (7).

>> UAB ranks second in the conference in assists per game, dishing out 16.2 as a team, with five players totaling 25 or more helpers this year.

>> The Blazers will look to turn things around offensively against ECU. In league play UAB is averaging 53.3 points and shooting 31.7 percent from the floor.

On The Pirates
>> East Carolina enters Wednesday's game with an overall record of 11-6 and 2-2 in league play.  Most recently, the Pirates lost on the road at Marshall, 77-56.

>>  ECU boasts one of the top scoring offenses in C-USA, pouring in 77.5 points per game.

>> Leading the offense is Maurice Kemp, who averages a team-best 17.8 ppg.  Earlier this season, Kemp posted a 30-point game vs. Houston.

>> Two other players to watch on ECU are guard Maurice Paul and forward Robert Sampson.  Paul averages 12.8 ppg and dishes out 5.7 assists per game, second-best in C-USA. Sampson grabs 9.3 boards a game and recorded a 17-rebound effort at Marshall.

Blazers Welcome Pirates

UAB holds a commanding 12-3 lead in the all-time series against ECU, but the Pirates have captured two of the last three meetings.  In fact, the last time ECU and UAB met in Bartow Arena, the Pirates escaped with a 73-66 victory.  Overall, the Blazers are 6-2 at home vs. ECU.



Purifoy Fires Away Against Pirates

Preston Purifoy averaged 16 points per game last season against ECU in two matchups.  Over the two contests, Purifoy shot 47.8 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent (8-for-14) from 3-point range. In the last meeting, Purifoy made a pair of late free throws in the closing minute to help seal a UAB victory, 61-57 in Greenville, N.C.



Purifoy Nearly Perfect At The Line

On the season, Preston Purifoy has been nearly perfect at the charity stripe, making 44-of-47 attempts at the free throw line.  His 93.9 free throw percentage tops Conference USA and he is a perfect 31-for-31 at the line in home games this season.

In addition, Purifoy had a streak of 30 consecutive made foul shots come to an end at Southern Miss on Jan. 19, when he went 5-for-6 on free throws.  His last miss prior to that was on Nov. 24 vs. TCU.
