Recap |  Box Score

UAB Head Coach Mike Anderson

On the overall performance:

"I thought, for the most part, for 40 minutes we played some very good basketball. It was all predicated from our defense. Of course, we made shots. When you make shots, it makes a big, big difference - and we rebounded well. To say the least, I was pretty happy to see our basketball team come out and play well."

On preaching defense to his team during practice this week:

"For the last two days, we really had some pretty tough work outs. They brought their practice to the game. To me, when you do that, you've got a chance to be a pretty good basketball team because even though the fans and officials are here (for the game) you're playing basketball.

On the bench play and inserting Wen Mukubu into the starting lineup:

"Our bench was huge. They came in and did a tremendous job. We inserted Wen (Mukubu) in the (starting) lineup. I thought his energy was big and he rebounded the ball for us. We were just clicking on a lot of cylinders tonight."

Old Dominion Head Coach Blaine Taylor

On the game:

"UAB was really ready to play and played well.  I fully expected they would give a physical effort but the thing that was eye opening to me was how well they shot the ball.  This kind of performance on their part will put them in a good place in a lot of different games."
