Played one season at Northwest Florida State College (formerly Okaloosa-Walton) under head coach Bruce Stewart after playing his freshman season (2007-08) at Alabama State ... earned first-team all-Florida and first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors in 2008-09 while helping the Raiders to a 21-7 record ... finished sophomore season with team-leading numbers in points (18.5), assists (4.5) and field goal percentage (53.0) ... also ranked 37th in the nation in scoring and ranked among the top 20 in the conference for free throw percentage (83.0, 15th), assists (4.7 apg, 12th) and steals (1.9 spg, 16th) ... connected on an impressive 44.3 percent from 3-point range while also pulling down 4.3 rebounds per contest ... earned player-of-the-week honors in consecutive weeks (Feb. 10, Feb. 17) ... averaged 28.7 points per game over his final five contests, including a career-high 40 points on 12-of 19 shooting from the floor in a one-point loss to then-No. 1 Chipola ... chose UAB after receiving offers from Nebraska, Charlotte and Ball State.

Played freshman season at Alabama State ... after redshirting his first year, Sanders played in 31 games for the Hornets in 2007-08, averaging 5.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game ... played 17.6 minutes per game as ASU went 20-11, won its league regular-season title and earned a spot in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT).
