A four-year letterwinner under head coach Terry Long at Douglass High School ... played at the same high school that produced former UAB star Richard Jones (2003-06) ... a McDonald's All-American nominee ... helped lead the Trojans to a 25-3 overall record and a final ranking of No. 9 in the state as a senior ... participated in the East-West All-City game in which he finished with a game-high 20 points to go along with five boards ... as a result, Criswell was selected as the Most Outstanding Player for the East team ... also was invited to participate in the Oklahoma Boys Basketball Coaches Association (OBBCA) All-Star game, which features the top seniors in the state of Oklahoma ... finished his senior year averaging team highs of 17.1 points and just over 10 rebounds per game on his way to earning 4A First-Team All-State accolades by The Oklahoman ... also named an all-state performer following his junior season ... received first-team all-district honors by the OBBCA ...his best game during his senior season came against Marshall High School on Jan. 6, when he exploded for 34 points on 14-of-23 shooting from the floor, and added 17 boards en route to the win ... also recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds in a victory in the first round of state basketball playoffs over Madill ... a standout academically as well, graduating in top 10-percent of his class.
