Andre Morgan begins his first season as the Blazers' administrative assistant in 2013-14. Morgan was officially hired on August 15, 2013.
Morgan comes to UAB from Young Harris College, where he has served as the assistant men's basketball coach since 2010. At Young Harris, Morgan managed all areas of recruiting and was an integral part in helping start the new men's basketball program.
Among other accomplishments at Young Harris, Morgan recruited and coached Malcolm Jackson, who was named the 2013 Georgia Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year while serving under head coach Pete Hermann, who was named the GABCA Coach of the Year last season.
In 2011-12, Morgan was the assistant coach on a Young Harris team that set a school record for wins in a season with 22 - a 17-game turnaround from five wins in 2010-11.
Morgan, who received his bachelor's of science degree in business administration from North Georgia College and State University, played college basketball at Kennesaw State from 2005-07, earning 2006 Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman Player of the Year honors.
Morgan transferred to North Georgia College and State University in 2007 and was his team's leading scorer and team captain during the 2008-09 season.
