BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following the top half of the first inning of Thursday night’s Birmingham Barons’ game against the Montgomery Biscuits, the 2014 UAB baseball team was introduced at Regions Field. Sophomore catcher Mitch Williams caught the ceremonial first pitch of the night, as well.

The Blazers are all back on campus with the start of the fall semester. In only a few weeks, the squad will begin fall practice in preparation for the 2014 season.

The Green and Gold had the honor of being recognized at one of the best baseball stadiums in the country on Thursday night. Earlier this month, Baseballparks.com named Regions Field the 2013 Ballpark of the Year. The award is presented annually to a new baseball stadium with the best combination of design, site selection, and fan amenities.
