UAB-Southern Miss Game Postponed

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB baseball team's game against No. 12 Southern Miss, scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., has been postponed due to inclement weather. The teams will begin the three-game series with a doubleheader Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. The series will conclude Sunday at 1 p.m.

Sunday's game will be broadcast live via the world wide web on the Blazers' official athletics website, For those who are not Yahoo! subscribers, a monthly subscription can be purchased for $4.95 per month and a season-long subscription may be purchased for $14.95. UAB (20-20, 7-10 Conference USA) is coming off a 12-2 loss to Mississippi State last Tuesday at Young Memorial Field. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Blazers. UAB is carrying a five-game winning streak in C-USA play.

Southern Miss (31-11, 12-6 C-USA) defeated No. 9 Ole Miss 6-3 last Tuesday in Jackson, Miss. in its last outing. The Golden Eagles are ranked 12th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and 20th by Baseball America and The Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches' poll.
