BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- Winning its last contest in walk-off fashion, the UAB baseball team looks to use that momentum on Tuesday with a road trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to play the Alabama Crimson Tide. First pitch at Sewell-Thomas Stadium is set for 6:05 p.m. CT.
The Blazers are seeking their fifth consecutive victory against Alabama, after knocking off the Tide 1-0 back on March 26 at the Hoover Met.

The Blazers have won four consecutive meetings with Alabama and six of the last seven matchups.
UAB earned a 1-0 pitcher's duel back on March 26, with John Frost knocking in the lone run of the game with an RBI single in the third inning. Five pitchers combined to shutout the Tide, behind five scoreless frames from lefty starter Sam Kelley. Jacob German recorded the 27th and final out to earn the save.
UAB Scouting Report
UAB went 1-4 last week, dropping a pair of road midweek games at Samford and Jacksonville State before taking one of three in a series against Memphis. The victory over the Tigers, was in walk-off fashion, thanks to a RBI single in the ninth inning by Ryan Prinzing.
The Blazers are hitting .260 as a team with three regulars hitting above .300 on the season. John Frost tops UAB and all of Conference USA with a .371 average and .444 on-base percentage. In league games, Frost is hitting an impressive .447 and getting on base at a .512 clip. The third baseman also leads UAB in RBI (25), doubles (10), extra-base hits (13) and walks (18).
Prinzing is hitting .330 and reaching base at a .439 clip and tops the team in runs scored (24), while Chase Davis has a .325 batting average on the year.
Alex Luna will toe the rubber for the Blazers on Tuesday, entering the contest with a record of 0-2 and a 7.90 ERA. The righty has made eight appearances, including two starts. Luna had a string of six consecutive scoreless outings before his last appearance at Jacksonville State when he allowed five earned runs in 3.1 innings.
Alabama Scouting Report
Alabama suffered a three-game sweep to No. 18 Ole Miss over the weekend and now sit at 22-16 overall and 8-7 in Southeastern Conference play.
The Tide is hitting .247 as a team, topped by Georgie Salem's average of .290. Four players on Alabama's roster have 20-plus RBI, led by Kyle Overstreet who has driven in 25.
Alabama's pitching has carried the Tide, owning a team ERA of 2.97 overall. Eleven of the 14 pitchers on UA's roster that have thrown this year own ERA's of 3.55 or lower and have a total of 270 strikeouts to 154 walks and holding opponents to a .249 batting average.
Right-hander Mike Oczypok gets the start, with a record of 2-0 and a 2.08 ERA. In six appearances, the righty has worked 13 innings, giving up nine hits along with seven strikeouts and three walks.

DH Ryan Prinzing hit a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to break an 8-8 tie against Memphis in the series finale with the Tigers on Saturday. Prinzing finished the game 3-for-5 two runs scored, two doubles and four RBI.
Frost Keeps Streaking
John Frost has hit safely in 16 straight contests, after recording at least one hit in all five games last week. During that span, Frost is hitting at a .410 clip (25-for-61) with 10 extra-base hits, 12 RBI and 11 walks. He has also reached base safely in 17 consecutive ballgames. Frost owns the top overall batting average (.371) and C-USA average (.447).
