BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ----- John Frost of the UAB baseball team was named Conference USA Hitter of the Week announced by the league office on Monday.
Frost led UAB with a .474 batting average in five games over the week. Frost laced nine hits in 19 at bats, scored five runs and knocked in five while posting a .522 on-base percentage and .632 slugging percentage. The Decatur, Ala., native recorded multiple hits in three of the five games and knocked in at least one run in four of five contests.
To begin the week against Saint Joseph's last Tuesday, Frost tied a career-high with three hits, while scoring three times and collecting two RBI in the victory.
Frost then closed out the week at Arkansas State by recording another three-hit game in Saturday's series finale against the Red Wolves. In addition, Frost clubbed his first homer of the year, as he went 5-for-8 at the plate in a doubleheader split against ASU on Saturday.
UAB will travel to Troy, Ala. on Tuesday to take on the Troy Trojans in a midweek matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
