2012 Conference USA All-Tournament Team
2012 (Sophomore)
· Made 24 appearances, including one start posting a 4-4 record with a 3.50 ERA
· The reliable right-hander made 23 outings in relief ranking 10th in C-USA
· Pitched a total of 64.1 innings, totaling 45 strikeouts, 26 walks and holding opponents to a .243 batting average
· Added a pair of saves and pitched in one of UAB's four shutouts on the season
· Worked more than one inning in 18 of 24 appearances and had six outings of four strikeouts (career-high)
· Did not allow an earned run over his first six appearances totaling 12.1 innings
· During that stretch, surrendered only four hits and two walks with 13 strikeouts
· Earned saves vs. Ball State (Feb. 26) and Houston (April 28)
· Pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a 1-0 victory vs. Alabama (March 27)
· Blanked the Crimson Tide over three innings of relief work to earn the win on April 10
· Lone start came vs. Southern Miss (May 18) and yielded one earn run in 4.1 innings
· Earned the win in an emergency outing vs. Tulane (May 25) at the C-USA Tournament
· Held the Green Wave to two earned runs in a career-long 6.2 innings and tied a career-high with four strikeouts to earn all-tournament accolades
2011 (Freshman)
· Made 13 total appearances and started two games as a true-freshman
· Was the starting pitcher vs. Samford (March 16) and Troy (April 19)
· Finished with a 1-1 record, 3.20 ERA in 25.1 innings
· Held opponents to a .266 batting average
· Kept the opposition off the scoreboard in nine of 13 outings
· Did not allow a hit or run over his first four collegiate outings, totaling five innings
· Blanked Cleveland State on March 4 for the final two innings with a career-best four strikeouts, teaming up with Ryan Woolley for the team's lone shutout of 2011
· In his start at Troy pitched a career-high 6.0 innings, allowing one earned run off five hits to earn the victory
High School
· Played for coach Brent Patterson at Cullman High School
· Helped Cullman to a state championship in 2008 and a state semifinal appearance in 2009
· Went 5-3 with a 3.18 ERA as a junior, striking out 45 batters in 44 innings despite missing half the season because of injury
· Played summer baseball for the Bama Bombers
· Helped his 2008 Bombers team to a fourth-place finish in the 16U USA Baseball World Championship in Jupiter, Fla.
· Played in the Alabama High School Coaches Association North-South baseball doubleheader
· Member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society
· Played at the same high school as fellow Blazer pitcher Blake Huddleston
