Rifle Shoots Shells At Ole Miss Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. ---- UAB rifle's SirLinda Gee and Autumn Stockwell finished in the top 50 shooters as the Blazers concluded play at the Ole Miss Invitational.

The Blazers only competed in the air rifle event and finished in eighth place.  The squad was led by Gee and Stockwell who each carded scores of 580 and 564, respectively.   The top score in the event went to Nevada's Olivia Pennell (593).

Gee fired six rounds, posting scores of 92, 97, 98, 98, 96 and 98 for her team-best 580 total.

In total the Blazers finished with a team score of 2232, just behind Columbus State (2285) and UT Martin (2296).  Nevada recorded the top air rifle team score at 2355.

Other top-five finishers that took aim for the Blazers at the Ole Miss Invitational included Sarah Hicks (548), Abigail Duke (540) and Maegan Sisk (530).

UAB did not partake in the smallbore event, which was also captured by Nevada.

Top team aggregated scores were Nevada (4662), Jacksonville State (4641) and Ole Miss (4636).
