MEMPHIS, Tenn. ---- SirLinda Gee led the UAB rifle team to a seventh place finish in the air rifle event at the Tiger Open with an individual score of 571 in the Blazers first contest of the 2011-12 season.
The Blazers finished with a total team score of 2195 as Ole Miss claimed the top tally at 2341.
Gee, who shot the top mark for the Blazers, produced a final score that was just nine points off of individual champion Kelly Audet of Memphis. Audet finished with a score of 590 in the air rifle competition.
Behind Gee, senior Autumn Stockwell put forth a strong performance, firing a 556. Others who competed in air rifle included Abigail Duke (541), Sarah Hicks (533), Maegan Sisk (515), Morgan Fancher (513) and Lindsey Hill (470).
UAB did not compete in the smallbore event, which was captured by Jacksonville State.
Overall, Jacksonville State claimed the aggregated score top mark at 4602 (2320 air, 2282 smallbore). Memphis finished the event second (4594), while Ole Miss (4579)claimed the third slot.
