CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The UAB rifle team competed in the NCAA Rifle Sectionals over the weekend at the Inouye Marksmanship Center at The Citadel. It was the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference's (SEARC) eighth event of the 2013-14 season.
The Blazers finished seventh in the air rifle competition with a score of 2179. They did not participate in the smallbore event, as NC State claimed the overall victory with an aggregated score of 4606 points. North Georgia took home second place, and The Citadel placed third.
Sophomore Margaret Lueck led UAB, firing a personal-best score of 558. Four other Blazers took aim, as co-captains Morgan Fancher (556) and Maegan Sisk (545) were second and third on the team. Lindsey Hill (520) and Ella Von Canon (520) also posted scores.
UAB will be back on the range once more this season on March 8 for the SEARC Championships in Charleston, S.C. It will mark the Blazers' third competition at The Citadel during the campaign.
