Hey Blazer Fans,

After a tough week of practice and a weekend off from racing we are getting ready for this Friday's big race at Notre Dame. I can't speak for the rest of the team but I am getting excited for the race. The Notre Dame Invitational is a pretty big deal among collegiate cross country meets. So many schools attend this meet that they separate the races into two divisions. We are running in the Blue Division that is the more competitive race of the two.

As a team we are hoping to do big things. Our goal is to race strong and prove that we can hang with some big time teams. This will also be the first time this season that we've raced against any other C-USA schools. This race is where our strong middle-of-the-pack runners will hopefully play to our advantage. We head for South Bend early Thursday morning. Once we arrive we will head to the course sometime that afternoon.

One of the reasons why I enjoy this race so much is because of the Notre Dame environment. Every other year there is a home football game against Purdue. The atmosphere among the Irish fans is amazing! Just racing on this course is a privilege and I can't wait for our team to prove that we belong in the race of champions! Hopefully the next time I write it will be about our success at Notre Dame. Until then........~GO BLAZERS!
