Blazer fans,

My name is Sam Hunt and I play quarterback for the Blazers. For the next few weeks, I'll be doing a blog similar to this, here on our web site. To be honest I didn't even know what a blog was until about 10 minutes ago. That might be because I don't own a computer and rarely get on the internet, but our SID Norm Reilly just explained things and hopefully he'll let me borrow his.

We're two days out now from our loss to Florida State and by tomorrow's morning meetings we will have put the game behind us.

I tried not to get mad at my mom on Saturday night as she was all smiles and waves when a few of us walked out of the locker room and through the friends and family that had gathered along the way to the busses. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I know that health and good effort are at the top of her priority list, and she is never as critical of me or my teammates as I am of myself.

I did have to force a smile because our team had just fought the Seminoles for four quarters with the expectation of our first win only to come away with a second loss. It was a long bus ride home.

Our offense and defense stepped up and played with a passion that I knew we had all along. As an offense, we feed off of the third down stands and the Will Dunbar interception that showed up Saturday. After two weeks of standing behind a determined offensive line, and watching a team of receivers go up and make plays on NFL-bound defensive backs, I know we are capable of being a good football team.

We will prepare this week just like we prepared for Florida State and will hopefully walk away from Legion Field with a win.

Thanks to everyone who made the trip to Tallahassee and we can't wait to see our fans at home this Saturday.
