NEVENA STEFANOV - VOLLEYBALL
September 27, 2007
Hey guys!
I almost can't believe that I'm sitting here and writing my third blog! Time is passing so quickly and of course there are more matches behind us.
On Thursday, we flew to New Orleans where we had practice and then had about two
hours after practice to walk down Bourbon Street. We absolutely love to go
go New Orleans - it's fun to just walk around and be surrounded by the
crowd. That city is different than any other we travel to. It's a great time
for team pictures and relaxing, which is really hard to get during fall.
On Friday, we played Tulane. Unfortunately we lost but I think there will be
time in the future for revenge.
On Sunday, we had our home opener against UTEP. We won this match and even
though we lacked emotion, there were some great things that day. Four of our
players finished with double-figures in kills, while we had 93 digs as a
team.
I can't deny that we had some struggles in the first part of the season, but I think from here on out things will get better and better.
We play Memphis (our first TV match of the season) on Sunday. I cannot wait
for that match especially since I missed our first game against them a
little bit over two weeks ago. That is going to be a brilliant game that we
all are looking forward to playing. They are definitely our favorite rivals.
There is no better thing in the world than the feeling after you win that
match. We hope we have that feeling on Sunday in Bartow! If you all want to
share our adrenalin, come and enjoy great volleyball Sunday at 1 p.m. at
Bartow Arena!
Go blazers!
