1995: The Blazers win the Great Midwest Conference Women's Indoor & Outdoor championships.

1996: Vonetta Flowers is the only C-USA women's athlete to earn All-American honors in 1996. She finished her career an NCAA All-American in the long jump, 100 meters and 200 meters and a six time conference MVP.

Feb. 19, 2002: Vonetta Flowers, a former UAB track & field All-American won a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. Flowers became the first athlete from UAB and individual from Alabama to win a Winter Olympic Games gold medal.

2005: Blazers have best ever showing at Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championship, placing third. UAB head track and field coach Ray Stanfield was named the Conference USA Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
