MEET THE GRADUATE ASSISTANTS OF UAB
2nd Year Graduate Assistants
Seongwon Choi

Seongwon Choi is entering her second year as graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UAB sports medicine program. Her primary responsibility is to serve as the athletic trainer for the volleyball and sand volleyball teams. She began her career as an Athletic Training Student at Oklahoma State University where she received her B.S. in Athletic Training in May 2011. During her time with the Cowboy Athletic Program she worked with a variety of sports including men's basketball, football, baseball and cross country. She became a BOC certified athletic trainer in May of 2011. She is pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration with concentration on Health Care Administration. Originally from South Korea, Choi is an active member of National Athletic Trainer's Association.
Matt Fisher
Matt is entering his second year as graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UAB sports medicine program. His primary responsibility will be to serve as the athletic trainer for the baseball team. The Hickory, NC native is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Athletic Training in May 2010. During his time at ASU Fisher worked with a plethora of different sports including baseball, football, men's basketball and men's soccer. He became a BOC certified athletic trainer in June of 2010. Fisher will be pursuing a Masters' Degree in Exercise Physiology. Matt has gained a wealth of knowledge outside the curriculum. In 2009 Fisher completed a summer internship with the New Orleans Saints. He also worked alongside the staff ATC at Auburn University. During that time he assisted with the day-to-day operations in the athletic training room for the baseball team. Matt is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association.
1st Year Graduate Assistants
Daniel Lindsey
Daniel will be entering his first year as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the UAB sports medicine program after spending the 2011-2012 school year as an intern with the Blazers. His primary responsibilities have included sport coverage for UAB Football and Women's Tennis. The Opelika, AL native is a 2011 graduate of Troy University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training. As a student at Troy University, Daniel worked with Women's Soccer, Football, Rodeo, Softball, Men's Basketball, and Charles Henderson High School Football. He is pursuing a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology. Daniel is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association. He and his wife, Brittany, were married March 2, 2012, and the couple resides in Hoover, AL
Ian McComb

Ian McComb is entering his first year with UAB as a graduate assistant athletic trainer majoring in Exercise Physiology. His primary responsibility is to act as a physician extender working with the team physician in our Sports Medicine Clinic. Other responsibilities include acting as the team athletic trainer for the men's tennis and men's and women's golf teams at UAB. The Jacksonville, FL native is a graduate of the University of Florida and during his time there worked with the gator baseball and track and field teams as well as a local high school. Ian is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association as well as the Southeastern Athletic Trainer's Association and the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association.
Logan Speicher

Logan Speicher is entering his first year with UAB as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer. Primarily he will be working with the women's basketball team and day to day activities as needed for the UAB athletic training staff. A native from Tampa Florida he graduated from The Florida State University where he attended all four years of undergraduate school, he was an athletic training student for the last three. Logan worked with a variety of teams including two fall semesters with football, men's and women's track and field, women's soccer, and men's and women's swimming and diving. He will be working towards a masters in Exercise Physiology over the next two years.
Ellan Harris

Ellan Harris is entering her first year as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer for the UAB Sports Medicine program. Her primary responsibility is to serve as the athletic trainer for the women's soccer team. She began her career as an athletic training student at The University of Alabama. At Alabama she graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training with a double major in General Health Studies with a minor in Nutrition. During her time with the Crimson Tide athletic program she worked with men's tennis, women's basketball, football, a local high school, and softball. She is pursuing a Master's Degree in exercise physiology. Ellan is an active member of the National Athletic Training Association
