Adams and May Take Down No. 4 FIU To Conclude Regular Season

MIAMI – Devon May and Kenley Adams picked up a three-set victory (21-16, 11-21, 15-12) over the fourth-ranked duo in the country on Saturday to conclude regular season play. The pair finishes the regular season with a team best 11-7 record while playing on court one.

"On our one's court we pulled through in the third set with a decisive victory. This was due to outplaying FIU defensively and transitioning the ball with great authority. I am very proud of Devon and Kenley," head coach Kyra Iannone said.

UAB (8-11,1-6 CCSA) was competitive across all five courts despite dropping the match to No. 10 FIU (20-8, 7-3), 4-1.

"From seeds one through five on Friday FIU set a new bar of expectation for competition and we weren't ready for it," Iannone said. "On Saturday, the majority of the team decided to step up their level and played to the new expectation. On all five courts Saturday our team played a smarter tactical game and I'm proud of that."

The postseason begins next Friday as UAB will travel to Emerson, Ga. for the CCSA tournament April 20–22.
