UAB Edges Out Memphis In Defensive Battle, 13-9

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Jegil Dugger scored on a 24-yard run with 8:41 left as UAB beat Memphis 13-9 on Saturday.
Dugger finished with 84 yards on 18 carries for the Blazers (4-2, 1-2 Conference USA).
After Dugger's TD, Rhett Gallego added a 41-yard field goal late with 1:28 remaining to seal the victory.
Memphis (4-3, 2-3) took the lead in the second quarter on Scott Scherer's 1-yard run, and added a safety in the third quarter.
UAB held Memphis to 186 total yards, and the Blazers only gained 200 yards.
UAB's Jeff Aaron was 14-of-27 for 144 yards. Percy Coleman caught six passes for 40 yards for the Blazers. Sugar Sanders who rushed 19 times for 49 yards for Memphis.
