Reid Adair is in his 24th year as a member of the UAB Athletics staff and his 11th in charge of overseeing all of the Athletic Department facilities as well as game-day operations.
Adair joined the Athletic Department in 1989 as a Graduate Assistant. Prior to his current position, he was an Athletic Academic Advisor for two years (1999-2001) and served as the advisor for the football team during that time. He spent one year (2002-03) as the Special Events Coordinator at Bartow Arena, working for former Blazer All-American Steve Mitchell, before returning to the athletic staff.
In addition to his duties with regular-season event operations, he has served as championship director for the 2007 Conference USA Men's Soccer Championship, the 2012 Conference USA Softball Championship and the 2012 Conference USA Men's Soccer Championship, as well as the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships for the past three years (2012-2014).
A Birmingham native and a 1985 graduate of Shades Valley High School, Adair attended UAB on an Honor's Scholarship and earned his undergraduate degree in journalism in 1989. He earned his master's degree from UAB in 1991 in athletic administration.
