Graduate Assistant/Sports Medicine

Matt is entering his second year as graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UAB sports medicine program. His primary responsibility will be to serve as the athletic trainer for the baseball team. The Hickory, NC native is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Athletic Training in May 2010. During his time at ASU Fisher worked with a plethora of different sports including baseball, football, men's basketball and men's soccer. He became a BOC certified athletic trainer in June of 2010. Fisher will be pursuing a Masters' Degree in Exercise Physiology. Matt has gained a wealth of knowledge outside the curriculum. In 2009 Fisher completed a summer internship with the New Orleans Saints. He also worked alongside the staff ATC at Auburn University. During that time he assisted with the day-to-day operations in the athletic training room for the baseball team. Matt is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association
